Rollover Collision Statistics

When a car loses its equilibrium on the road, it rolls over onto its side or top. These accidents could result in an automobile flipping over multiple times.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHSTA) reported 2,750 rollover deaths in 2017. Although it is not the most common type of car accident, rollovers often result in more fatalities than other types of accidents.

Rollover accidents account for around 3% of all car accidents, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In contrast, rollover or tip-over accidents account for around 35% of all passenger vehicle fatalities.

Speeding, intoxicated driving, and mechanical failure are frequently the causes of these incidents. The easiest approach to minimize rollover accidents is to keep your car in good condition and to drive cautiously.

Each year, the majority of those killed in rollover accidents are not wearing their seatbelts. Wearing a seatbelt is the single most important measure that can improve your chances of survival and reduce the severity of your injuries.
