A 40-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian accident involving an SUV in Oildale, Kern County, on Saturday evening, May 27, 2023.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred on North Chester Avenue around 9:25 p.m.
A Chevrolet SUV was heading northbound on North Chester Avenue when it struck a pedestrian, unable to avoid him.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV driver stayed at the crash site and awaited the authorities.
Alcohol or drugs do not seem to have contributed to this incident.
