A male pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in San Bernardino on Saturday evening, May 27, 2023.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at about 9:12 p.m. on the southbound side of State Route 259 near the 30th Street onramp.
According to authorities, the man was walking on the freeway when struck by at least one vehicle. Officials added that some vehicles stopped to help the victim, but he died due to his injuries.
The CHP said the driver of the silver vehicle that hit the pedestrian, who was unharmed, pulled over to the right shoulder and waited for emergency responders.
No other details have been published about the crash, and the pedestrian’s identity has been withheld until notification of next of kin.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
