One person was killed following a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Vernon and McKinley avenues in South Los Angeles on Tuesday morning, May 27, 2025.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the collision occurred at approximately 7:06 a.m. near George Washington Carver Middle School, just before the start of school instruction at 8:00 a.m.
Emergency responders pronounced one person dead at the scene. Their identity has not yet been released, and it is unclear whether they had any affiliation with the school.
No additional injuries have been reported. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
