[05-28-2022] Kern County, CA - 56-Year-Old Woman Dead After a Hit-And-Run Crash in BakersfieldAccording to Bakersfield Police, a 56-year-old Bakersfield resident died in a fatal hit-and-run collision on Alfred Harrell Highway Saturday, May 28, 2022.

The fatal crash occurred at around 8:41 p.m. at Highway 178 and Alfred Harrell Highway, Bakersfield police said.

Morgan B., a 56-year-old Bakersfield resident, was the woman killed that night.

According to investigators, a woman driving a vehicle southbound on Alfred Harrell Highway collided with a pickup truck driving westbound on Highway 178.

The woman died at the scene after suffering major injuries in the crash, according to the police department. The pickup truck’s driver bolted from the scene.

David A., the accused driver, was identified as a 28-year-old man. He was arrested and booked into the Kern County Jail on Sunday on multiple charges stemming from the collision.

Bakersfield police are asking anyone with information about the crash to call them at 661-327-7111.
