[05-28-2023] Sutter County, CA – Two People Killed, Four Others Injured After Two-Vehicle Head-On Crash in Live Oak

Two people were killed, and four others were injured following a two-vehicle head-on crash in Live Oak on Sunday afternoon, May 28, 2023.

The collision occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Larkin Road north of Riviera Road, as reported by the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities stated that the driver of a 2009 Toyota Camry allegedly attempted to pass oncoming traffic and crossed into the opposing lane before colliding with a 2013 Ford F-150.

The Toyota driver, a 49-year-old man from Oroville, sustained injuries, while his two occupants, a 59-year-old woman from Oroville and a 52-year-old man from Fairfield, were declared dead because of their injuries.

Officials added that three F-150 passengers sustained moderate to severe injuries. Two are from Santa Maria, while one is from Gridley.

Alcohol is not believed to have played a role in the crash, and anyone with information can contact the Yuba-Sutter CHP office at 530-645-6200.

No further details were released, and the crash investigation continues.
