[05-29-2022] Lake County, CA - One Person Killed After a Deadly DUI Crash on Westlake RoadA 28-year-old woman identified as Amy Maurie W.A. was killed following a deadly DUI crash on Westlake Road on early Sunday morning, May 29, 2022.

The fatal traffic accident happened at approximately 12:50 a.m. on Westlake Road from the NIce-Lucerne Cutoff.

A northbound 2017 Honda was traveling on Westlake Road when the driver made an unsafe turn which resulted in the vehicle veering off the road and crashing down a grassy embankment.

The Honda then struck a driveway and a wire fence at the bottom of an embankment. A passenger inside the Honda was killed in the mishap.

Authorities later determined that the Honda driver was under the influence at the time of the crash. The driver was identified as 27-year-old Adryan J. S. and he was arrested for DUI-related charges.

An active investigation of the case is currently underway.
