A woman was fatally struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the northbound lanes of Interstate 805 in San Diego early Thursday morning, May 29, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at approximately 5:20 a.m. when the female pedestrian attempted to cross the freeway toward 43rd Street and was struck by a Chevrolet Tahoe.
Responding emergency personnel pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Her name and age have not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated fully with investigators. CHP stated that alcohol or drugs are not suspected to have played a role in the collision.
