[05-30-2022] San Bernardino County, CA - Two Las Vegas Women Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash in NeedlesAccording to the California Highway Patrol, two women from Las Vegas were killed in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate-40 Monday, May 30, 2022.

The fatal collision occurred at around 12:35 p.m. on I-40 near Needles, California, about 110 miles south of Las Vegas.

According to a California Highway Patrol report, Wittney B., 32, and Makelika S., 35, were traveling eastbound on I-40.

Beckstead, who was driving at the time, collided with a vehicle in the opposite lane while changing lanes, and both cars lost control.

Beckstead’s Jeep flipped multiple times, according to CHP. Beckstead was killed in the collision. Schnose, her ejected passenger, was taken to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, where she died from her injuries.

According to the CHP, neither woman was wearing a seatbelt, and it’s unclear whether alcohol played a role in the accident.

The other driver, a 65-year-old man, was only slightly hurt.

The collision is still being investigated.
