What to Do After a Motorcycle Accident

Motorcycle accidents can be frightening and upsetting. Riders injured or families of deceased victims should seek legal assistance as soon as possible. To protect your rights, take the following steps:

  • Do not try to settle the dispute with the other driver. Inform the police about the accident and request a copy of the official report.
  • Gather information such as the other driver’s name and insurance provider.
  • Take photos of everything you believe is essential. Snap pictures of the accident scene, road conditions, your injuries, the other vehicle, and your motorcycle.
  • Get medical help as soon as possible. Scans and tests can detect internal injuries that don’t show any symptoms.
  • Organize a file containing all accident-related paperwork and information. You should obtain a copy of the police report, medical bills, details about the other driver, and other pertinent paperwork.
