[05-31-2022] Los Angeles County, CA - Fatal Train Crash in Van Nuys Kills One PedestrianAn unidentified pedestrian was killed by a Metrolink train in the Van Nuys area on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.

According to Metrolink’s Scott Johnson, the crash occurred around 5:40 a.m. between the Northridge and Van Nuys stations.

The accident involved the Metrolink train 100 on the Ventura County Line, which was en route from Moorpark to Los Angeles.

According to Johnson, the fatally injured person was in a non-pedestrian area.

According to reports from the scene, the person was fatally injured at the intersection of Balboa and Roscoe boulevards.

The identity of the individual was not immediately known.

Johnson further reported that about 40 people were on board the train, and no one was injured.

Passengers were provided with alternate transportation, and the railroad tracks were closed while an investigation was conducted.
