[05-31-2023] Tow Truck Driver Fatally Struck While Responding to Vehicle on I-5 Freeway in Griffith ParkA tow truck driver was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Griffith Park, Los Angeles, on Wednesday evening, May 31, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol said the incident occurred after 11:00 p.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway at Zoo Drive.

According to the report, the tow truck, which had been responding to a vehicle near the freeway, was struck by a passing vehicle traveling southbound on the highway, resulting in the fatality of the tow truck driver.

The fire department responders promptly responded, but unfortunately, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle that hit the tow truck driver pulled over and remained at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
