[05-31-2023] One Person Killed Following Two-Vehicle Hit-And-Run Crash on Highway 1One person was killed following a two-vehicle hit-and-run crash in Monterey on Wednesday afternoon, May 31, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at Aguajito Road on southbound Highway 1.

Authorities stated that the hit-and-run collision caused a van to turn over multiple times before stopping in the fast lane. The van driver was transported to a hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

The CHP described the suspect vehicle as silver with significant front-end damage but provided no further information about the collision.

The investigation into the collision is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact authorities as soon as possible.
