What To Do After A Pedestrian Accident

While the immediate shock of the accident may have settled, it’s important to take further steps to protect your legal rights and strengthen your claim:

  1. Organize Any Evidence You Collected — If you gathered photos, driver and witness information, or notes about the scene, keep everything in one safe place. Photos of the damage, road conditions, and your injuries can all help tell the story of what happened.
  2. Write Down What You Remember — As memories fade quickly, take time to write down key details — what the driver was doing, how the accident occurred, the weather, and anything unusual or important. Even small details can be useful later.
  3. Follow Up on Medical Care — If you haven’t already, see a doctor for a full evaluation. Some injuries, especially internal or soft tissue damage, may not show symptoms right away. Medical records also serve as crucial evidence for your case.
