According to the California Highway Patrol, a two-vehicle crash led to one death on Highway 86 Wednesday, June 1, 2022.
The fatal collision transpired at about 3:24 p.m. on Highway 86 south of Carey Road.
According to CHP the unidentified man was driving a 2015 Dodge.
According to CHP, the driver of the Dodge was traveling at an unknown speed when he collided with the back of a Caterpillar tractor.
After the Dodge caught fire, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
There are no additional details at this time.
The case is still under investigation by the CHP, which is looking into whether impairment played a role.
