[06-01-2022] Merced County, CA – Fatal Train Crash in Planada Kills One Pedestrian

According to the California Highway Patrol, an unidentified pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Merced County on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.

The crash occurred on Childs and Santa Fe Avenue in Planada before 9:00 a.m.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene, according to officers. The authorities have yet to disclose the person’s identity.

There are no other details available.

The crash remains under investigation.
