[06-01-2022] Stanislaus County, CA - 38-Year-Old Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash West of TurlockA 38-year-old man was killed when he was struck by a vehicle on a rural road west of Turlock early Wednesday morning, June 1, 2022.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer Ming Hsu, the crash occurred just before 2:00 a.m. in the eastbound lane of West Main Street, west of Crows Landing Road.

The 38-year-old pedestrian was struck by a Chrysler PT Cruiser.

Hsu claimed it was dark, and the PT Cruiser’s driver, Winton’s Maiyra R., 41, claimed she did not notice the man on the road until it was too late.

According to Hsu, she immediately pulled over and dialed 911.

The first officer on the scene was a Stanislaus County sheriff’s deputy, who began CPR on the pedestrian, who had suffered massive head trauma and had no pulse.

CHP officers arrived next and took over CPR until paramedics arrived, but the man was eventually pronounced dead.

The authorities did not release his name because his family had not yet been notified.
