[06-01-2023] Los Angeles County, CA – Woman Killed After Two-Vehicle Collision in Lynwood

A woman was killed after a two-vehicle collision on the 710 Freeway in Lynwood early Thursday morning, June 1, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred near Imperial Highway through South Gate shortly after 1:10 a.m.

The crash initially involved two vehicles. Witnesses claimed that a black Jeep had collided with the freeway’s center divider and crashed into another vehicle, causing severe damage to the cars.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the woman unresponsive and unbreathing. They attempted CPR on the unidentified victim. However, it was unsuccessful, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigators are trying to determine if the woman was ejected from her vehicle or if she exited before she was hit.

The other vehicle’s driver was unharmed and was questioned by the investigators. Additionally, the investigation included at least two other cars that hit debris on the freeway.

As a result of the crash, the southbound side of the freeway was closed for hours. It wasn’t until around 5 a.m. that the lanes were reopened.
