[06-03-2022] Monterey County, CA - 74-Year-Old Killed in Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on State Route 183According to California Highway Patrol, a 74-year-old Castroville man was killed in a fatal two-vehicle crash on SR-183 on Friday morning, June 3, 2022.

The crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Highway 183, southbound, north of San Jon Road.

According to the CHP, the driver of a 2013 Ford Edge was traveling north on State Route 183 north of San Jon Road when he crossed over the broken yellow line into the southbound lane for an unknown reason.

According to CHP, the Ford collided with a 2021 Lincoln Continental, causing it to rotate toward the northbound lane, where it crashed into a Farm Labor Bus.

The Lincoln’s driver, a 74-year-old Castroville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to CHP, the Ford driver was a 47-year-old woman from Holtville who was taken to a local hospital with major injuries.

According to CHP, the driver of the Farm Labor Bus was a 64-year-old Salinas resident who sustained no injuries.

According to the CHP, drugs, and alcohol are not factors in this accident.
