[06-03-2023] 3 People Injured Following DUI Solo-Vehicle Crash on Hearst Avenue in BerkeleyThree people were injured after a car vs. tree DUI collision in Berkeley on Saturday morning, June 3, 2023.

According to the Berkeley Police Department, a local resident reported that the incident happened on 9th Street and Hearst Avenue at around 5:00 a.m.

The resident stated that a blue Hyundai Genesis Coupe flew off a roundabout into a tree, waking up the residents of northwest Berkeley.

All three occupants were injured, including the driver, Diego E., 28, who is being held under suspicion of DUI. The second victim walked home without getting treated. The third victim was rushed to Highland Hospital.

Motorists of Berkeley are advised to drive more carefully.
