Dedicated Premises Liability Injury Attorneys for Victims in Los Angeles County

Suppose you are the victim of a crime, such as assault, sexual assault, battery, or another criminal activity that harms you. In that case, you may be able to bring forth a negligent security claim against the property owner where the incident occurred. A negligent security suit is a type of premises liability claim. It holds that the property owner failed to provide reasonable security for the property and that the criminal activity (and your injuries) directly resulted from that failure.

Should the plaintiff establish these elements and causality (that the defendant’s breach of duty of care directly caused the plaintiff’s injuries), then the defendant would be liable for the plaintiff’s damages. Under the doctrine of premises liability, they would have a strong case against the property owner in that situation.

  • To initiate the claims process, notify the property owner of your accident and injuries as soon as possible. You should file a written report with the property owner, manager, supervisor, etc., and ask for a copy of this report.
  • Gather evidence relevant to your injury. This includes pictures of the dangerous condition, names of any eyewitnesses, and a description of what you were doing when the accident occurred. The more evidence you have, the easier your case will prove.
