According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred on Lankershim Boulevard near Cayuga Avenue at around 4:00 a.m.

The driver of a blue 2015 Nissan Versa was heading northbound on Lankershim Boulevard when they struck a semi-truck from behind. The Nissan driver then fled the scene.

The victim was declared dead by the authorities.
