- Immediately Call The Police — Report the accident to law enforcement as soon as possible. The police can also gather important details that may help identify the responsible party. A police report also serves as essential documentation for your case.
- Collect Pieces Of Evidence At The Scene — If you’re able to, take photos or videos of your injuries, vehicle damage, and any other physical evidence at the scene. This could include tire marks, debris, or fragments from the hit-and-run driver’s vehicle. These details could prove crucial in identifying the driver later.
- Gather Contact Information Of Witnesses — Obtain the contact information of witnesses from the accident scene, if there are any. They may be able to help identify the hit-and-run driver or the vehicle involved.
