[06-05-2023] Merced County, CA – One Woman Killed, Another One Severely Injured After Two-Vehicle Collision on West Olive Avenue in Merced

A 27-year-old female driver named Christina S. was killed, while a 27-year-old passenger was severely injured in a two-vehicle collision in West Olive Avenue, Merced, on Monday evening, June 5, 2023.

According to the Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office, the incident occurred at approximately 7:49 p.m. in the 800 block of West Olive Avenue.

A fatal traffic collision involving a white Toyota Camry and a tan SUV occurred. The Camry overturned and collided with a light pole after being sideswiped by the SUV, which had made an unsafe turn.

Soltero was pronounced dead at the hospital, while her female passenger was critically injured and flown to a trauma center.

The SUV driver, a 21-year-old man, and his passenger from Yosemite National Park reported no injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
