[06-05-2025] San Diego County, CA – Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Rear-End Crash on Carroll Canyon Road

A 62-year-old motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a collision with a vehicle in Sorrento Valley, San Diego County, on Thursday afternoon, June 5, 2025.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened around 4:13 p.m. in the 4900 block of Carroll Canyon Road.

A 27-year-old man driving a Ford Focus had just exited a driveway and was traveling westbound when a black 2007 Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycle rear-ended the vehicle.

Authorities said the motorcyclist was riding at an unsafe speed before the collision. He sustained six fractured ribs and a punctured lung and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Police confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The department’s Traffic Division is investigating the incident.
