What To Do After A Pedestrian Accident

After the initial shock of the accident, there are steps you can take to protect your rights and strengthen your case:

  1. Organize Your Evidence
If you or someone with you took photos, gathered contact details from the driver and witnesses, or made notes about the accident, keep everything together in one place. Photos of the damage, the road conditions, and your injuries can help explain what happened.
  2. Write Down What You Remember
Memories can fade quickly, so write down everything you remember as soon as possible. This might include what the driver was doing, how the accident happened, the weather, and any other important details. Even small things can be helpful later.
  3. Get Medical Care
If you haven’t already, it’s a good idea to see a doctor. Some injuries, like internal or soft tissue damage, may not show up right away. Getting checked by a doctor also provides important medical records for your case.
  4. Contact A Lawyer
While you focus on your recovery, a lawyer can help with the legal side. They can guide you through the process and protect your rights as you work toward getting the compensation you may be entitled to.
