Two-Vehicle Collision Statistics

Car accidents can occur at any time and in any location. In the United States, a car collision occurs once every sixty seconds, on average. Accidents are unavoidable, with hundreds of thousands of drivers every day.

Driving-related accidents and deaths are the most common causes of death and serious injury in the United States. Nearly two million people are injured every year in car accidents. There’s no denying that California’s highways are some of the nation’s busiest and most congested. Traffic congestion, gridlock, and (most crucially) car accidents – death and serious injury incidents – are unavoidable with so many automobiles on the road.

In California, nearly one-tenth of all fatal car accidents occur. In 2017, there were 485,866 car accidents in California, with 3,898 persons killed and 276,823 injured. Since 2013, the number of people killed in car accidents in California has increased by 23.5%.

There are numerous possible causes of a car accident. Though some of these causes, such as inclement weather, are beyond anyone’s control, most accidents result from human error or driver negligence.

Car Accident Lawyers in Humboldt County

Injured victims in California have the legal right to initiate a lawsuit and represent themselves in court if they so desire. Individuals may not initiate a lawsuit on their behalf if they represent a corporation, file a class-action lawsuit, or litigate on behalf of a kid. You are not advised to bring a lawsuit unless you are familiar with California state law and judicial procedures.

Representing yourself is difficult even if you are familiar with the legal system. Skilled attorneys better understand how much medical and financial recovery will cost. They’ll hang out until insurance adjusters make a reasonable offer that covers all expenditures for the victim.

A personal injury lawyer helps establish who was at fault in the accident and how much compensation you should seek from an insurance company. An attorney can also assist you with the claims process and negotiate with the insurance company on your behalf.

Arash Law’s Humboldt County car accident lawyers can investigate your accidents, identify probable defendants, and file your claim with the civil court system as soon as possible.
