A 35-year-old woman driver and 48-year-old pedestrian were injured after a single-vehicle collision in Kearny Mesa, San Diego, on Wednesday afternoon, June 7, 2023.
The San Diego Police Department stated that the incident occurred at approximately 3:14 p.m. on Lightwave Ave at intersection 9300.
The driver of a white 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross in the eastbound left lane collided with a pedestrian walking in a southerly direction. The women were both transported to the hospital, according to the report.
The pedestrian complained of pain in the neck and back, while the driver sustained significant head trauma and is currently in critical condition.
The SDPD has indicated that DUI is not believed to be a factor in the incident.
