[06-08-2023] Reckless High-Speed Pursuit Ends with Car Flipping and Three Injured in West SacramentoThree people were injured after a reckless high-speed pursuit in West Sacramento on Thursday, June 8, 2023.

The beginning of the incident and subsequent pursuit took place on Tower Bridge Gateway, according to the West Sacramento Police Department.

Based on the report, an officer observed a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction, prompting an attempt to initiate a traffic stop. However, the car opted to evade capture and rapidly accelerated, reaching speeds of over 120 mph.

The driver ultimately lost control of the vehicle while navigating the traffic circle on Village Parkway, resulting in the vehicle striking the curb and subsequently rolling over.

Emergency responders extracted the three occupants from the vehicle and transported them to the hospital for medical treatment.

The police later revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Oakland and had recently been engaged in pursuits with both the California Highway Patrol and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation is ongoing.
