Steps To Take After A Car Accident In Los Angeles, CA

If you’ve been involved in a car accident in Los Angeles, your first step is likely to have been calling 911 and reporting the incident. This is an essential step for documenting the event. To further protect your rights, follow these recommended actions:

  1. Seek Medical Attention — Even if you don’t feel injured, it’s crucial to see a doctor. Some injuries, like head trauma or muscle strain, may not show symptoms right away, but a medical evaluation can identify and document them for your case.
  2. Collect Evidence — Take photos of the scene, your injuries, and any damage. Also, record the contact information of any witnesses. This evidence will help support your case.
  3. Avoid Discussing Liability — Do not speculate or discuss liability at the scene. Leave the assessment of fault to your attorney, who will review the facts and advise you accordingly.
  4. Consult with an Attorney — Contact a Los Angeles car accident lawyer to explore your legal options. We will assess your case, explain your rights, and help you navigate the next steps.
