[06-09-2023] Sacramento County, CA – Two People Hospitalized Following Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash on Interstate 80

Two people were hospitalized following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Sacramento early Friday afternoon, June 9, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol reported at approximately 12:48 p.m. that a car with four occupants was traveling westbound on Interstate 80 in the far right lane.

Authorities stated that the car was traveling towards the Raley Boulevard exit when the driver suddenly started to doze off. The car then veered off to the left, crossing all four highway lanes, and collided with the center median for an unexplained reason.

As a result of the crash, the vehicle rolled over and ejected the driver. Officials said the driver suffered major injuries in the crash and was transported to the hospital. One passenger was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries, and the remaining two occupants were unharmed.

No further information has been released about the crash, and it is unknown whether alcohol or drugs were involved. The investigation into the collision continues.
