What To Do After A Pedestrian Accident

Getting involved in a pedestrian accident can be overwhelming, but taking the right steps afterward is crucial for protecting your health and legal rights. Here’s what we suggest:

  1. Gather photos of the accident scene, visible injuries, and any vehicle damage. Also, collect witness contact information and take notes about the circumstances of the accident. This evidence will support your case.
  2. Write down everything you remember about the accident as soon as possible. Include details about the driver’s actions, weather conditions, location, and any other relevant factors. These notes will help preserve important facts.
  3. See a doctor for a full evaluation, even if you don’t feel hurt. Some injuries, such as internal damage or soft tissue injuries, may not be immediately apparent. A medical evaluation provides documentation for your case.
  4. Reach out to a pedestrian accident lawyer to discuss your situation. A lawyer can help explain your legal options, guide you through the claims process, and ensure your rights are protected.
