A young adult male suffered life-threatening injuries after a motorcycle and wedding party bus collided on Highway 76 on Saturday, June 11, 2022.
The crash occurred late Saturday on Highway 76, just east of Gird Road.
According to North County Fire Protection District, the wedding party bus was on the side of the road because of a breakdown.
The motorcyclist came around the bend and slammed into the back end of the bus. He then went flying over into the ravine.
A rope rescue took place.
The young man, who was unconscious at the time, was treated at the scene and secured in a stokes basket, and brought up to the road.
A rescue ambulance then transported him to Mercy Air.
Mercy Air then transported the critically-injured motorcyclist to a trauma center.
The Medical Examiner’s Office has yet to confirm if the young man did indeed succumb to his injuries.
There are no other details available.
California Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
