According to the authorities, a Costa Mesa pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Fountain Valley late Sunday night, June 12, 2022.
The crash occurred at about 10:37 p.m. officers responded to the incident near the intersection of Warner Avenue and San Ricardo Street on the south side of Mile Square Park.
The victim, a 57-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.
Fountain Valley police said the fatal traffic collision involved a silver 2002 Honda Civic.
According to a news release issued by Fountain Valley Police officials, the vehicle’s driver cooperated with investigators at the scene.
Authorities did not believe that alcohol or drugs had played a role in the accident.
