A male pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in San Jose on Monday morning, June 12, 2023.
According to the San Jose Police Department, the collision occurred shortly after 8:00 a.m. in the area of McKee Road and Jackson Avenue, close to Regional Medical Center.
Authorities stated that the Lexus sedan’s driver was heading westbound on McKee Road when he hit the pedestrian traveling northbound outside any designated crosswalks.
Officials said the first responders pronounced the unidentified adult male pedestrian dead at the scene. Police added that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the collision, and no further information has been released. The police request that anyone with information about the incident contact them promptly.
The investigation into the collision continues.
