[06-13-2022] Humboldt County, CA - Two-Vehicle Collision Kills Two on 101 Near Myers FlatAccording to the California Highway Patrol, two people were killed in a two-vehicle collision near Myers Flat Monday late afternoon, June 13, 2022.

The crash occurred at around 4:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 101 near Myers Flat.

Two people were killed in a collision when a driver crossed the median and collided with two motorcyclists traveling in the opposite direction.

Both motorcyclists were ejected from their bikes while traveling southbound with a group of three others, with a woman on a red Triumph Tiger suffering fatal injuries.

The Toyota 4-Runner’s driver was also killed. Their names were not released immediately because they’re next of kin had not been notified.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the other motorcyclist, a man from Portland, Oregon, was taken to St. Joseph for moderate injuries.

The accident, which is still being investigated, shut down the highway for about four hours. According to a CHP release, whether drugs or alcohol were involved was not immediately clear.
