A child riding a bicycle was severely injured after being struck by a car in Concord on Tuesday afternoon, June 13, 2023.
The Concord Police Department said the incident occurred at approximately 2:15 p.m. on Cowell Road, south of Treat Boulevard.
According to the report, a large commercial vehicle hit the child riding a bicycle in the crosswalk. The collision occurred as the commercial vehicle turned from Treat Boulevard onto Cowell Road, striking the child.
The unidentified child sustained injuries to their lower leg due to the crash.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Concord PD Traffic Unit. The police have provided no additional information at this time.
