[06-14-2023] 2 Older People Injured Following Hit-and-Run Collision in Johnson ValleyTwo older people, a 74-year-old man and a 75-year-old female, were injured after a hit-and-run collision in Johnson Valley on Wednesday morning, June 14, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on the northbound lanes of State Route 247, north of Vista Road, at around 5:10 a.m.

A 1994 Chevy Silverado towing a small utility trailer was said to have come to a stop in the northbound lanes of State Route 247 with no lights on when a Nissan Frontier, also heading north, struck the utility trailer from behind.

The driver and passenger of the Nissan sustained major and minor injuries, respectively. They were brought to High Desert Medical Center by ambulance.

The driver of the Chevy fled the scene. The Chevy driver was described as a thin, white male in his 50s or 60s with long grayish hair and a beard.
