One person was killed while another was injured after a vehicle fire crash in Rural East County, San Diego County, on Wednesday evening, June 14, 2023.
According to California Fire San Diego responders, the incident occurred at approximately 7:15 p.m. on State Route 94 near Cochera Via Drive in Barrett Junction.
Upon the arrival of the firefighting team, they encountered one fatality and another person who had suffered injuries. The injured individual was promptly taken to Grossmont Hospital by paramedics to treat minor wounds.
The identities of both individuals involved in the accident and the factors that led to it remain unclear. It’s also unknown whether there were other vehicles involved.
The investigation is ongoing.
