[06-15-2022] Butte County, CA - 46-Year-Old Man Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Crash on East AvenueAccording to the California Highway Patrol, a 46-year-old Chico man died in a motorcycle accident just outside Chico city limits on Wednesday night, June 15, 2022.

The crash occurred just before 9:00 p.m. on East Avenue, just west of Guynn Avenue.

According to the CHP, the man was driving at dangerous speeds and passing traffic on the left side when he crashed into the curb in the center median.

According to the CHP, he was thrown from his motorcycle into the east lanes of East Avenue.

The motorcycle came to a halt on the eastbound lanes’ south sidewalk.

According to the CHP, the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet that was not approved by the Department of Transportation at the time of the crash.

The CHP is looking into whether the man was driving while distracted or under the influence.

When the man’s next of kin is notified, his identity will be made public.
