[06-18-2023] Riverside County, CA – Fatal Collision Claims the Life of 20-Year-Old Motorcyclist in Cathedral City

A 20-year-old male motorcyclist, Zachariah A., was killed after his motorcycle collided with a car in Cathedral City on Sunday evening, June 18, 2023.

The Riverside County Coroner’s office confirmed that the incident occurred around 9:13 p.m. at Date Palm Drive and 35th Avenue.

The preliminary investigations indicate that the motorcyclist and a car were involved in an unfortunate accident. The motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Date Palm Drive while a vehicle, turning from Royal Palms Country Club onto the same road, collided with the motorcycle.

Upon arrival, responding officers discovered the motorcyclist unconscious and with severe injuries. Despite efforts by the Cathedral City Fire Department, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the involved vehicle, a male who was the sole occupant, did not sustain any injuries and showed no signs of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

As part of the investigation conducted by CCPD’s Traffic Division, Date Palm Drive was closed between 35th Avenue and Victoria Drive for several hours.
