Fatal Car Crash Statistics

The majority of drivers in California are unaware that single-vehicle collisions are among the deadliest on the road.

In California, 62% of fatal car accidents are caused by a single vehicle, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If you’re a driver in California, you need to be aware of a number of potential contributing factors.

Many factors can lead to single-vehicle accidents. Drive carelessly on a slick road while speeding or making sharp turns to avoid runaway vehicles, also known as off-the-road accidents. Branches and other debris were thrown from passing trucks that litter the road.

A single-car accident that is caused by something other than your or another driver’s negligence is more likely to be covered by your comprehensive insurance policy.
