[06-19-2022] San Francisco County, CA - One Person Killed, Four Others Injured in Fatal Car Crash on Bay BridgeAuthorities said a 22-year-old man was killed, and four others were injured in a car accident on the Bay Bridge early Sunday morning, June 19, 2022.

The crash occurred just before 3:00 a.m., just east of the center anchorage.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer Mark Andrews, a gray Infinity vehicle carrying a driver and three passengers was traveling westbound when it came to a slow stop.

Andrews speculated that the stop was possibly due to a mechanical failure.

According to Andrews, a white pickup truck collided with the back of the Infinity vehicle in less than a minute.

According to Andrews, all westbound lanes were closed for an hour before being reopened shortly after 5:00 a.m.

According to Andrews, the driver and two other passengers in the Infinity were taken to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment of their major injuries.

The three passengers were expected to survive, but a 22-year-old man who was also a passenger died at the scene.

Andrews said the driver, a 22-year-old San Francisco woman, was also arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The driver of the white pickup truck was taken to San Francisco General Hospital and later released due to minor injuries.

Andrews stated that he was not arrested or suspected of driving under the influence.

The crash remains under investigation.

Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash Statistics

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, sixty-two percent of fatal car accidents in California are caused by a single vehicle. The high number of single-vehicle accidents in California necessitates that drivers be aware of a wide range of factors that can contribute.

There are numerous reasons why a single vehicle could collide with another. Off-the-road accidents, also known as runaway vehicles, can happen if you drive recklessly on a slippery road while speeding or making sharp turns. The road is littered with branches and other debris that were thrown from trucks.

In the event of a single-car accident, your comprehensive insurance policy is likely to pay less than your collision insurance policy if the accident is caused by something other than your or another driver’s negligence.

San Francisco County Car Accident Lawyers

Nearly everyone who is injured in a car accident can’t get back into the workforce, nor can they go back to school; despite the fact that reckless driving results in the death of another person, it is still a crime. Victims of car accidents who died as a result of the negligence of another driver can sue that person for wrongful death.

They are unable to bear the agony of reliving their past losses and sorrows. Victims are required to testify about their losses in front of a room full of strangers in both depositions and trials. Unresolved legal issues can have a negative impact on people’s mental health.

Immediate action is required to hold a driver accountable for a car accident. We must hold those responsible for the high death toll that has resulted from our failure to pay attention. While it is exhausting, bringing an action for the wrongful death of a loved one can help those left behind cope with the loss of a loved one. Drivers in California will feel the full force of this change.
