Two people were killed while the toddler was in critical condition after a head-on collision between two vehicles in Elk Grove on Tuesday evening, June 20, 2023.
The California Highway Patrol South Sacramento division stated that the crash occurred around 9:20 p.m. on Dillard Road, east of Highway 99.
According to the investigators, the 27-year-old man involved in the accident engaged in unsafe passing maneuvers, ultimately leading to a head-on collision with the other vehicle.
Additionally, it was reported by the (CHP) that the unidentified man was not wearing a seatbelt, and there was a possibility of intoxication.
Both drivers, the man, and 37-year-old Ashley G., were declared deceased at the crash site, while the 2-year-old toddler, who was in critical condition, was promptly transported to the hospital and is now in stable condition.
The cause of the collision is still being investigated.
