[06-21-2023] 1 Child, 1 Motorcyclist Injured After Police Vehicle Crash Into Local Business in the Mission DistrictTwo people – a child and a motorcyclist – were injured after a police vehicle crashed into a local establishment in San Francisco on Wednesday afternoon, June 21, 2023.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the incident occurred at the southwest corner of the 22nd and Valencia Street intersection, near the Mission Campus of City College of San Francisco, around 5:10 p.m.

The SFPD officers spotted a red Mercedes SUV suspected to be involved in a violent crime in the 2600 block of Mission Street. While the officers were pursuing the SUV through the intersection, a police vehicle crashed into the southwest corner of a building while trying to avoid a motorcyclist.

A child was injured in the impact while the motorcyclist was ejected from his vehicle and ended up on the sidewalk. The victims were brought to the local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Information on the identities of the victims was not released pending the investigation.

The officers involved in the crash did not sustain any injuries.
