[06-22-2023] Vehicle Occupant Injured After Gas Station Structure Collapses in LancasterOne person was injured after a structure at a gas station collapsed onto a vehicle in Lancaster on Thursday afternoon, June 22, 2023.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lancaster Station promptly responded to a report of a collapsed structure at 25th Street West and Ave J around 3:48 p.m.

Upon arrival, LACoFD personnel discovered that a portion of the roofing structure had fallen, striking a vehicle occupied at the time.

According to the report, It is possible that gusty winds, reaching up to 20 mph in the Antelope Valley that afternoon, contributed to the structure’s collapse.

The vehicle’s occupant was transported to a local hospital but declined to provide a statement. Employees of the business also refused to comment on the incident.

The cause of the collapse is currently under investigation.
