The crash occurred around 9:47 p.m. on northbound I-5, south of Grapevine Road.
Officers responded to the scene and discovered three vehicles involved in the collision that claimed the life of a woman riding in the back of a Toyota Tundra.
The collision involved a 27-year-old San Jose man driving an Acura ILX and a Peterbilt Truck Tractor being operated by a 59-year-old Tehachapi man.
