[06-26-2023] Five Killed, One Severely Injured After High-Speed Single-Vehicle Crash in Long BeachFive people were killed and another severely injured after a high-speed single-vehicle crash in Long Beach on Monday morning, June 26, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 4:00 a.m. at the 91 Freeway connector.

Authorities are investigating what caused the crash, but it appears a black Hyundai Sonata was going at high speed when it collided with a median and exploded into flames.

Officials said six people were in the vehicle. Five people died, and one individual was brought to a hospital with serious injuries and in an unknown condition.

No further details were released, including the identities of all the people involved.
