[06-28-2022] Butte County, CA - 86-Year-Old Woman Dead After Being Struck By a Vehicle in ChicoAccording to the Chico Police Department, an 86-year-old woman was taken to the hospital after she was hit by a vehicle on Forest Avenue Tuesday morning, June 28, 2022.

According to the authorities, the crash occurred around 10:00 a.m. at Hartford Drive and Forest Avenue.

According to the police, they found Martha D. on the ground when they arrived.

The driver of the vehicle stopped, and all occupants along with witnesses, provided statements to officers.

During the investigation, officers learned Davis was crossing Forest Avenue in an area without a crosswalk.

Davis was taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries.

The driver did not show signs of impairment and voluntarily submitted a blood draw. Officers also determined that speed was not a factor.

The police are still investigating the crash.
