[06-29-2023] 1 Person Critically Injured Following Car vs. Truck Collision on I-5A person was hospitalized with serious injuries following a car versus truck collision in Sacramento on Thursday morning, June 29, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on northbound Interstate 5 near the Sutterville Road onramp at around 5:45 a.m.

Based on the preliminary investigation, a car rear-ended a semi-truck. It is unclear what caused the collision, pending a full investigation.

The victim was extricated from their vehicle and rushed to a trauma center with major injuries by personnel of the Sacramento Fire Department.

No information was released regarding the identities of the people involved.

Further investigation determined that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
